Collier, Jossie Beatrice (Cleveland) - The Chattanoogan

She was born on Jan. 29, 1924 in Steele, AL., and moved to Cleveland in 1972.She worked at Cleveland Travel Inn for 33 years as head housekeeper. She retired and spent the remaining years caring for her family. She was of the Church of God faith and was a member of God’s New Beginning Holiness House of Prayer.She was preceded in death by her parents, Grimm and Nellie Velvet Pierce; her husband of 42 years Rev. Terry Fate Collier; her children, Charles Wallace Collier, Clara Beatrice Truelove and Terry Eugene Collier; and nine of her siblings. She will be greatly missed and forever loved by her family and friends. She is survived by three daughters, Nellie Odell Couch (Tommy) of Cleveland, Gracie May Gilbert (Ralph) of Tunnel Hill GA and Hazel Lee Couch of Cleveland; her sister, Mary Sinclair of Steele, AL; 14 grandchildren, Jessie Collier, Billy Couch, Terry Couch (Tammy), Timmy Couch, Angela Holdman and her children Cody and Taylor, James Collier (Elena) all of Cleveland, Rhonda Synder (Steve), Karen Collier, from Chattanooga, Lorrie Collier of Athens, Matthew Truelove, Pamela Watson (Joey) from Benton, Tammy Gilbert (Andrew), Donald Gilbert (Sissy) and Robert Gilbert (Lorrie) from Whitfield County; 21 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.A Remembrance of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 1 at Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services Wildwood Ave. Chapel with Rev. William Curtis and Rev. Winfred Truelove officiating. The interment will follow in the Earls Cemetery with Billy Couch, James Collier, Jessie Collier, Terry Couch, Timmy Couch, Joey Watson, Cody Holdman and Shane Holdman serving as casket bearers.Jim Rush Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.

Williams, Bessie Sutton (Cleveland) - The Chattanoogan

She was the last living child of eight to the late Lewis and Margaret Sutton; and was also preceded in death by her first husband, Joe O. Williams; her second husband, Reece Womac; and her great-grandson, Benjamin Williams.She was a member of West Cleveland Baptist Church.She is survived by her sons, Roy Williams and his wife Helen Diane Williams, Ron N. Williams and his wife Marian Jeanette Williams all of Cleveland; her step-son, Mikey Womac and his wife Cindy of Etowah; her grandchildren, Shane Williams and his wife Kari of Oakland TN, Shawn Williams and his wife Robin, Cindy Teague and her husband Kevin and Mary Beth Henderson and her husband Philip all of Cleveland; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A Remembrance of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 6 at Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services Wildwood Ave. Chapel with Rev. Arris Cavender officiating. The interment will follow in the Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery in Cohutta.The family will receive friends Sunday, June 5 from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. All of “Granny” Bessie’s family and friends are invited to attend this final tribute to her life. Jim Rush Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
